Carbfix scales up CO₂ mineral storage to climate relevant scales. We target hard-to-abate industries and partner on Direct Air Capture (DAC) and Bioenergy with Carbon Capture and Storage (BECCS) projects.
We've been revolutionizing the way carbon emissions are managed, offering innovative solutions for a sustainable future.
Nature's way of storing carbon in rocks accelerated by Carbfix
Relatively low up-front capital costs
Leakage eliminated with instant solubility trapping underground
Methodology and implementation independently certified by DNV and Puro.earth
Storage capacity much greater than needed for climate goals
Stable for millennia, no long-term monitoring needed
With over a decade of experience, Carbfix evaluates storage sites, mitigates risks, and increases value through feasibility studies, pilots, facility construction, and commercial operations.
The full-scale commercial operations represent a scalable rock solid solution for the CO₂ emissions from the industrial sector, as well as for the CO₂ directly removed from the atmosphere.
Featured Offerings
Carbfix offers two different pathways for CO₂ storage via mineralisation with a tailor made solution for each project.
Carbfix applies its technology to point source CO₂ emissions, whether from industrial emitters or Direct Air Capture (DAC) systems, near suitable rock formations. We offer consultancy services and customised feasibility studies for each project and partner.
Focus Sector: hard-to-abate industry, BECCS and DAC
Feasibility studies to evaluate the geology at the site
CO₂ mineral storage implemented at the site of the emitter
Project development from pilot to full-scale operations
Solution that can be implemented worldwide
Proprietary technology to facilitate the interface between emitters and CO₂ injection systems
Sector: Geothermal Industry
Capture of CO₂ (and H₂S) using the Carbfix scrubbing tower
CO₂ mineral storage implemented at the site of the emitter
More than 10+ years of experience at the Hellisheidi Geothermal Plant
Large-scale terminals, built in locations with favorable rock formations and save costs through economies of scale. CO₂ is captured, transported to the terminal and stored permanently. Carbfix provides consultancy and feasibility studies tailored to each project and facility.
Sector: Hard-to-abate industry, BECCS and DAC
Feasibility studies to evaluate the geology at the site
Project development from pilot to full-scale operations
Solution that can be implemented worldwide
CO₂ can be transported cross-border and in some cases, captured on site
CO₂ stored via Carbfix technology
