PM of Sweden, Löfven at Hellisheidi


Stefan Löfven, Sweden's Prime Minister, visited the Hellisheidi Geothermal Power Plant today to study geothermal utilisation in Iceland and the progressive carbon sequestration project, CarbFix.

The Iceland's Prime Minister, Katrín Jakobsdóttir welcomed Stefan and his wife Ulla, along with Brynhildur Davíðsdóttir, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Bjarni Bjarnason CEO of Reykjavík Energy.

Edda Sif Pind Aradóttir presented the CarbFix method and after the presentation Bjarni Bjarnason gifted Löfvén with a fraction of the drill core where the greenhouse gas is seen as a rocky white spot in the basalt.

His visit is the debut of the annual meeting of the Nordic Prime Ministers that will take place here in Iceland tomorrow, August 20th.
